This project from School of Music Director Yana Stotland combines music with other art forms, giving children a true “multimedia” experience and a great outlet for self-expression.

While listening to a specific piece of music, draw a picture, or write a short story, or create a dance to describe your thoughts or feelings or what you see, inspired by what you are listening to.

Choose from one of these great examples of musical works that inspire imagery (or choose your own!). You can find recordings of all of these on YouTube.

  • Scheherazade (Rimsky-Korsakov)
  • La Mer (Debussy)
  • Symphonie Fantastique (Berlioz)
  • The Rite of Spring (Stravinsky)
  • Swan Lake (Tchaikovsky)
  • The Firebird (Stravinsky)

Please note that all 92Y regularly scheduled in-person programs are suspended.
