Our community space in Warburg Lounge is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm for Himan Brown Senior Program members to relax, socialize, have a cup of coffee or tea, eat lunch with new and old friends, play Bridge, Mah Jongg, Canasta or Chess, or use our portable computer station to catch up on email or surf the web. Additional lectures, concerts and other programs take place in the lounge all week long.
We also offer special events like our Hanukah and Passover luncheons, weekday trips and monthly Social Sunday outings.
Many of our members choose to give back to the greater New York community through ongoing volunteer activities. Our knitters and crocheters create hats and scarves which are donated to children and adults at hospitals and care centers nationwide. To date, we have donated over 5,000 hats. Other members tutor children or give of their time to a wide array of community organizations. And many members participate in seasonal drives organized by our active Social Action Committee, including our School Supply Drive, Passover Food Drive and New York Cares Coat Drive.
