About the Classes
Classes for "absolute beginners" are taught slowly, at the most basic level, for students who have never danced before. Beginning-level classes do not require previous formal dance training. This level is also appropriate for students who have taken dance classes but consider themselves beginners and for students who have not danced for a long time. We recommend at least one year of recent dance experience for advanced beginning classes and at least two years for intermediate classes. Open and mixed level classes require that students are capable of modifying the class to suit their physical capability and skill level. Advanced and professional classes assume advanced proficiency and recent practice. A dance center calendar is available upon registration. Afro-Caribbean, ballet, Duncan, flamenco, modern and tap classes feature live accompaniment. Showers are available in the dressing room. Faculty listings are subject to change.
