Young Writers' Workshop

This workshop will take place in person with mask protocols and social distancing. Students who show proof of vaccination have the option of participating without a mask. A hybrid option will be offered for those unable to attend in person.

“I saw myself taking more risks in form and content. I loved the instruction and the group dynamic was one of the best I’ve witnessed in writing workshops,” wrote a former student.

“My daughter has been lucky enough to attend creative writing workshops in the past. This was her favorite by far. She was incredibly impressed by the teachers and the visiting artists - and most certainly by her fellow students,” wrote the parent of a former student.

Over the years, 92Y has been home to writers at every stage, including Claudia Rankine, Sapphire, Gary Shteyngart, Min Jin Lee and Rebecca Stead, whose careers began in workshops here. The Young Writers Workshop now offers two workshops for teens from around the country who love to write. Get coaching from some of NYC’s best writing teachers in a warm, supportive environment with young adults who share a passion for writing. Write more. Write better. Write now at 92Y.
