Learn the fundamental skills needed to create well-constructed beaded jewelry.
Techniques will include pearl knotting on silk with french wire, stringing with elastic, and with beading wire & crimp beads, and a woven bracelet. Projects will include bracelets, earrings and necklaces. Sources for materials will also be covered.
Marsha Davis taught at Craft Students League (NYC) from 1994 until its closing in 2005. She has been on the faculty of The Jewelry and Metalsmithing Department of the Art Center at 92nd Street Y in NYC since spring of 2000. She also has created and taught workshops for The American Craft Museum and The American Museum of Natural History. Other teaching credits include workshops for Sugar Maples Center for Arts and Education, Newark Museum Arts Workshops, The Bead Society of Greater New York, The Long Island Bead Society, Beads By Blanche in Bergenfield, NJ and the Art School at Old Church in Demarest, NJ. She had a project published in the book The Art of Beaded Beads (2006), Lark Books.
