We will look closely at the things that make a poem work, from technical considerations, like line breaks and punctuation — or lack thereof — to more subjective concerns such as tone or meaning — or lack thereof.
We will embrace chance and strangeness, too, in our class discussions, as well as in outside readings and prompts.
Students are chosen by Mark Bibbins on the basis of a manuscript submission. Applications must be received by Mon, Sept 11 at 5 pm. Click here for submission guidelines.
