Discover Dance

Through school-based learning and attendance at live performances at 92Y, students in grades K-5 explore a variety of dance genres. This unique program brings together performers from around the globe, illuminating connections between cultures and artistic traditions. Live performances at 92Y encourage interaction between artist and audience.

Program Details

92nd Street Y’s Discover Dance program is a collaboration among students, teachers, teaching artists and performing artists that provides:

  • 1 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP — At 92Y for classroom teachers
  • 2 PROFESSIONAL DANCE PERFORMANCES — In 92Y’s Kaufmann Concert Hall and Buttenweiser Hall
  • 15 IN-SCHOOL LESSONS — Led by a 92Y Teaching Artist
  • CURRICULUM MATERIALS — Including teaching artist guide and audio/video resources
