Matt Bomer, Kelsey Grammer and the cast and crew of The Last Tycoon in Conversation with Caryn James

Amazon’s newest original series is The Last Tycoon — based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s great final work, an unfinished epic of 1930s Hollywood inspired by the life of legendary movie mogul Irving Thalberg.

Golden Globe winner Matt Bomer (The Normal Heart) plays studio golden boy Monroe Stahr, who’s locked in conflict with his father figure and boss, Pat Brady (Kelsey Grammer). See the first episode of the series — steeped in the aura and history of the era — before it premieres on July 28. Then hear about the making of this long-awaited adaptation from cast members Bomer, Grammer, Lily Collins and Dominique McElligott, and executive producers Christopher Keyser and Billy Ray.
