"Sharma’s recipes teach you how to use spices in your cooking the way you do salt and pepper."—Bon Appétit
Food writer, blogger and scientist Nik Sharma (A Brown Table, Season) knows that your cooking will be greater the more you understand what makes it great. He joins us to lead a Cooking Class on essentials for a flavor-packed pantry and recipes that maximize them, all stemming from one of the most hotly anticipated cookbooks this fall, his soon-to-be-released The Flavor Equation. In this class Sharma demos four simple recipes that start with a smartly-stocked pantry: Rice Crumbs, Gunpowder Nut Masala, Curry Leaf Mayo and Quick Preserved Lemons. He shares tips about ingredients and techniques, and how to repurpose basics like these in everyday cooking once they’re in your arsenal. The recipes are provided upon registration, so you can try them out in advance, or prepare them along with Sharma during the class, who will also be taking real-time questions. Don’t miss the chance to cook alongside a flavor master, and learn how taste is built in the kitchen so it can translate where it matters most—at your table.
The session will be recorded and will also be available for later viewing by all who register.
Registration includes a code for a 20% discount on the purchase of The Flavor Equation through Kitchen Arts & Letters.
