Pedja Muzijevic

This enticing program proves to be somewhat of a musical tapas bar from the thoughtful, insightful pianist Pedja Muzijevic.

Beginning with an appetizer of three Scarlatti Sonatas: the energetic, ever-shifting Sonata in F Minor, K. 519; the delicate siciliano of the C-sharp Minor Sonata, K. 247; and the sparkling, witty F Major Sonata, K. 17, we then move to John Cage’s Bacchanale, a raucous, groovy piece that was the composer’s first for prepared piano. Next, we delve into Satie’s Embryons desséchés, a collection of three spirited movements that pokes fun at everything from Beethoven to French cabaret. Selections from Glass, Antheil, and Granados continue the program, which concludes with Debussy’s remarkable, energetic L’Isle Joyeuse.
