The amazing composer-violinist Jessie Montgomery is one of the brightest lights among a young generation of classical violinists.
She joins us with acclaimed Americana songwriter and bassist Eleonore Oppenheim in the duo string ensemble they call big dog little dog, for an evening of what has best been described as “post-minimalist groove Americana.” Their sound is earthy and soulful, and their music reflective of place, home and time, with folk-leaning explorations that take off into flights of virtuosity only possible from two extraordinary artists whose Juilliard training informs their wholly original music.
