Jeremy Denk plays Mozart, Joplin, Beethoven, and more

Jeremy Denk

“A pianist you want to hear no matter what he performs.”

The New York Times

Poet of the piano, MacArthur “Genius” Award winner Jeremy Denk returns to our stage in a program that includes two of the greatest masterpieces ever written for the piano: Mozart’s C Minor sonata and Beethoven’s final sonata, also in C Minor. Between these two awe-inspiring works is a musical exploration of ragtime, African drumming, protest song, and war.

  • Mozart, Sonata No. 14 in C Minor, K. 457
  • Blind Tom, The Battle of Manassas
  • Joplin, Heliotrope Bouquet (arr. Chauvin)
  • Tania León, Rituál
  • Frederic Rzewski, Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues
  • Beethoven, Sonata No. 32 in C Minor, Op. 111
