“Perhaps the most precise and soulful classical guitarist of his generation.”

NPR

The fabulous Grammy Award-winning guitarist Jason Vieaux is among the guitar world’s most highly regarded artists, with a global career spanning concerto performances, chamber music and recitals. He is also a passionate advocate of new music. Twenty-time Grammy-winning guitarist/composer Pat Metheny tapped Vieaux to perform his new four-movement solo guitar suite Four Paths of Light, which opens Metheny’s highly anticipated new album, released this March. Vieaux returns to our stage for the New York premiere of this work, along with his arrangement of a Bach violin sonata and Leo Brouwer’s modern classic El Decamerón Negro, in a rich and expansive guitar program spanning more than 300 years.

Concert stream available for one week from date of broadcast.

  • Bach, Violin Sonata No. 1 in G Minor, BWV 1001 (arr. Vieaux)
  • Brouwer, El Decamerón Negro
  • Pat Metheny, Four Paths of Light (New York Premiere)
