Rachel Korazim

Rachel Korazim is a freelance Jewish education consultant in curriculum development for Israel and Holocaust education. She engages audiences worldwide through innovative presentations built around the stories, poems and songs of Israel’s best writers. Her thought-provoking talks open a window onto Israeli society, inviting listeners to engage with the country and its history in new ways. Until 2008, Rachel was the Academic Director of Distance learning programs at The Jewish Agency for Israel, Department of Education. Born in Israel, she served in the I.D.F as an officer in the central training base for women and was later a member of the I.D.F delegation to Niger (West Africa). She is a graduate of Haifa University with a PhD in Jewish education. Rachel has a vast experience in Jewish education both in Israel and worldwide. As one of the founders and directors of a special program for soldiers from disadvantaged backgrounds, she was responsible for creating the educational framework and training teachers for the implementation of the program. Rachel was the head of the JAFI delegation to Canada. (1985 to 1988) It is when she became involved with Jewish education worldwide; creating and implementing in-service training programs for educators, writing educational materials, counseling and teaching. Rachel is familiar, through many visits, with the Jewish education communities of the US, Canada, Latin America and Europe. Since 1990 she has invested a lot of her time and energy in helping the emerging Jewish schools of Hungary. Rachel teaches at Israel’s well known learning centers such as Pardes and the Shalom Hartman Institutes as well as in numerous Jewish communities worldwide. In her free time, Rachel enjoys scuba diving in the cenotes of Playa del Carmen in Mexico and the amazing coral sites of the Red Sea. Rachel is also a very active grandmother of eight grandchildren who all live in Israel.

Karin Lagziel

Karin Lagziel holds a BA in Communication Education and Political Science with honors from Ben-Gurion University. She holds an MBA in Business Administration, specializing in Social Leadership from the Mandel Foundation. In her previous position, Karin served as director of education programs for the humanitarian organization IsraAID in Dominica. As part of her role, Karin led the creation of a national emergency education program in partnership with UN agencies and the Ministry of Education, Dominica is the first island in the Caribbean to have a national program of the Ministry of Education and emergency educational programs are implemented in all schools. Karin has a rich background in developing partnerships between the social and business sectors, integrating and using advanced technologies. In the past, Karin led the penetration of learning technologies into the Haredi sector in Israel as part of the "Virtual School" project of the Institute for Educational Technology. She formerly served as Partnership Director collaborating with the Israeli Ministry of Education to provide opportunities and workshops to enhance public speaking skills for disadvantaged youth. Karin was part of a team that acquired the Tel Aviv franchise for a social organization called "Fun" to talk about what has recently been taboo in entrepreneurship, failures. Today Karin serves as a Senior Emissary from the Jewish Agency in Manhattan, promoting relations between Diaspora Jewry and Israeli society.
