Community Passover Seder

This Passover, let’s join together for a Seder!

We’ll explore the Passover themes of liberation, hope, and miracles. Lead by Rabbi Samantha Frank and cantorial student Ilana Goldman, let’s gather for an uplifting evening of storytelling and song.

This is a free online program, but registration is required.

We’ll be using Zoom, so please download and test it out in advance. If you’d like our assistance, please email Rick Rosenbluth and a member of the Bronfman Center team will get back to you. Our team wants to ensure that you’ll connect with us smoothly.

Once you register, you will receive all the information to connect as well as a virtual Haggadah to follow along with—so keep an eye on your inbox for both those items!

Samantha Frank

Samantha Gayler Frank was raised in Silver Spring, MD. She graduated from Tufts University, where she earned her B.A. in French and Community Health. Prior to becoming a Rabbi, she taught English in France and worked at the NYU Child Study Center in the field of mental health policy. She served as student rabbi at Temple Beth Am in Monessen, PA, rabbinical intern at Yale Hillel: Joseph Slifka Center for Student Life in New Haven, CT, and as rabbinical intern at Temple Micah in Washington DC. She was honored to be a Bonnie and Daniel Tisch Rabbinical Fellow and recipient of the BeWise Fellowship for entrepreneurship, as well as a Jewish Innovation Fellow at the 92Y!

At 92Y, Rabbi Frank is delighted to serve as the Director of Jewish Education. In her role, she oversees ATiD, our Jewish after school program, as well as teaching and leading holiday celebrations and classes. She also serves as Rabbinic Fellow at Temple Micah in Washington, DC. Rabbi Frank is co-creator of the Jewish educational resource, @Modern_Ritual (on Instagram and at www.modernritual.org). In addition to thinking creatively about how to share the beauty and meaning of Jewish tradition, Samantha loves all pasta. She lives in Brooklyn.

Ilana Goldman

Ilana Goldman is in her fifth and final year as a cantorial student at the HUC-JIR Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music where she is expected to be ordained in May. Originally from Ocean Township, NJ she spent her senior year of high school at Interlochen Arts Academy in MI. Ilana went on to continue her education at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin where she majored in music, religious studies with a minor in psychology. She had the honor of meeting with and presenting Congressman John R Lewis as the class graduation speaker in 2015. During her time in Cantorial School she has held student pulpits at Temple Micah in Washington DC, Vassar Temple in Poughkeepsie, NY, and Scarsdale Synagogue in Scarsdale, NY. Ilana has completed over 800 hours of training as a Chaplain Intern at Bellevue Hospital in New York City, bringing music and prayer to patients. She has so valued singing and learning with the incredible families in the 92Y community as part of the ATiD Shabbat Morning program creating creative and musical experiences in partnership with Rabbi Samantha Frank. She looks forward to rejoining with the 92Y community to share in food, prayer, and song.
