Dizzy! Celebrating Dizzy Gillespie

Dizzy! Celebrating Dizzy Gillespie

No one comes closer to capturing jazz icon Dizzy Gillespie’s trailblazing spirit than trumpeter Jon Faddis, whom Gillespie himself called “the best ever, including me!”

Gillespie gave rise to bebop with groundbreaking records like “A Night in Tunisia,” which blended Afro-Cuban rhythms with the American sound. Rejoice in the brilliance of bop — from Dizzy’s own compositions (“Groovin’ High,” “Salt Peanuts”) to standards he reimagined (“All the Things You Are,” “On the Sunny Side of the Street”) — with Faddis, Jimmy Greene on tenor sax and a stellar rhythm section.
