Dawn Upshaw in a rare appearance at 92Y, special guest of the Brentano String Quartet

The brilliant Brentano String Quartet, hailed as “passionate, uninhibited and spellbinding” (the London Independent), is joined by treasured American soprano Dawn Upshaw in her first 92Y appearance in over 20 years.

Hear them together in selections that include Respighi’s Il tramonto (“The Sunset”), the composer’s lyrical, sensual setting of a poem by Shelley. The Brentano Quartet will also perform two works which play engagingly with consonance and dissonance, in Mozart’s “Dissonance” Quartet and Schubert Minuets interspersed with Webern Bagatelles.
