The New York Times wrote that “(Bresnick’s) music seems at once ancient, elegiac and awesomely new.” Join us for an enthralling new program by the Brentano Quartet, with readings of poetry by Wallace Stevens, whose poem “The Planet on the Table” inspired Bresnick’s work of the same name. Joining us to read these stirring words is noted radio broadcaster and host of APM’s Performance Today, Fred Child. After intermission, the Brentano Quartet will perform Beethoven’s sublime String Quartet in A Minor, Op. 132, with interspersed projections of the words of Wallace Stevens.
“Passionate, uninhibited and spellbinding.”
