Integrating the Arts in the Special Needs and Inclusive Classrooms

Inspiring creative confidence inside the classroom, outside the lines.

“I felt that this presentation really addressed the role of the teaching artist in inclusive and special needs classrooms. Jessica gave us so many helpful and useful strategies for working with special needs students, especially those on the Autistic Spectrum, and she explained WHY those strategies were effective.” —Workshop Participant

Our seminar includes:
  • Strategic classroom management and teaching techniques that enhance student learning by creating structured, well managed lessons for all abilities.
  • Implementing the arts into a lesson or individual activity addressing different learning needs while making learning hands-on and interactive.
  • Model activities and materials, so that teachers can immediately begin using the arts to enhance and deepen learning.
  • Techniques and tools to apply engaging arts-based strategies to enrich and enhance the classroom climate as well as social-emotional and cognitive growth.

Our instructor from 92Y’s Education Outreach program will come to you and work with groups of every size. 92Y is a contracted vendor with the DOE.
