Beloved food historian Francine Segan, widely acclaimed for her classes and lectures on the food of Italy, is also an expert on the rich culinary history of the Berkshires.
Spending many summers there with her family, Segan fell in love with the region, its organic farmers, artisanal food products, superb restaurants, and more. This class takes you on a virtual tour of this spectacular part of New England at peak fall season, exploring the “Berkshire Cottages” of Lenox and Stockbridge, where figures including Edith Wharton, the Vanderbilts and Andrew Carnegie gave dinner parties, and more, offering insights into the vibrant culinary scene and amazing food to be found there today.
