James Shapiro

James Shapiro is Larry Miller Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University and serves on the board of directors of the Royal Shakespeare Company and on the board of governors of the Folger Shakespeare Library. His books include Shakespeare in a Divided AmericaContested Will: Who Wrote Shakespeare?, A Year in the Life of William Shakespeare: 1599, and The Year of Lear: Shakespeare in 1606, “a meticulous narrative of a momentous year in the life of the playwright and a masterpiece of intelligent literary criticism,” writes Colm Tóibín.
