Important Update: 92Y remains open
From cave painters to contemporary photographers, the colors of the natural world have inspired artists throughout history.
This course identifies specific color relationships found in nature: tropical fish, natural pigments, flowers, and more. These color schemes form the basis for studio projects, in the student’s choice of media. Working with the contrast-based color theory of Bauhaus artist Johannes Itten, students strengthen their ability to create a successful palette. This course is open to students working in any media, at any level of experience. Demos are provided with water-based media.
