Join us for the third annual Mobile Dance Film Festival, the only dance film festival featuring works shot entirely on mobile devices.
This year’s Festival features 30 Official Selections from Australia, Brazil, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Papua New Guinea, Russia, Uruguay, the USA and more.
13 films in a special “Quarantine Screen” category showcase films made during COVID-19 lockdowns and feature the amazing creativity of artists using social-distancing techniques and practices such as recording with Zoom and FaceTime, Tik Tok’s “Don’t Rush” challenge, and split-screen dueting.
The new film Bent But Not Broken is the Festival’s first documentary offering. Starring dancers with scoliosis, the film was shot on mobile devices during the pandemic. The documentary will be screened in addition to a “making-of” discussion with filmmaker Paige Fraser, choreographer Rena Butler and MDFF creator Andrew Chapman.
The $5 purchase includes viewing access to five festival programs from July 25 until August 31:
