He has taught both children and adults, working for NYC-based organizations such as Studio In A School, Brooklyn Museum, Queens Museum, Bronx Community College, Childrens' Museum Of The Arts, LEAP and of course 92nd Street Y. Rick is a freelance illustrator and writer: his work is largely about the confluence of Word + Image; he is currently working on 1. an illustrated narrative "memoir" — a "graphic novel" autobiography recounting his various picaresque adventures traveling the country, and 2. an exhaustive illustrated bio of Jack Kerouac. Work has been published by Rolling Stone and The Village Voice; he has also done artwork for Saturday Night Live, Night Of Too Many Stars and New Jersey Goodlife. Rick's editorial strip, "Ral Boomer," can be found twice monthly in Connecticut's Advocate and Greenwich Time, two Hearst news-dailies.
