Between 1881 and 1914 over two million Jews left the Russian Empire.
This three week course will examine life under the last Russian Tsars. Scholar Trudy Gold will explore the options facing those that left and those that stayed. Would it be the old world or the new? Jewish socialism, revolution or Zionism? In times of great upheaval what were the choices?
Sessions will take place on January 14, 21, and 28 from 10:30-11:45 am ET. This program will be recorded and available for later viewing by all who register.

Trudy Gold was the former C.E.O of the London Jewish Cultural Centre, and one of the founder members of the British delegation to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance. She has taught Modern Jewish History in schools and universities and for adult groups throughout the World.
She has coordinated teacher training in Jewish History and Holocaust Studies in Eastern Europe and latterly in China.
