Important Update: 92Y remains open
Originating in England and denoting the era of Queen Victoria’s reign during the 19th century, Victorian architecture was adopted widely in the United States.
Explore this era through its architecture, marked by revival styles, picturesque compositions, ornate decoration, moral seriousness, and, sometimes, willful weirdness, from London’s “Pont Street Dutch” terrace houses to Gothic Revival churches to Romanesque Revival public buildings found all across America to San Francisco’s “Painted Ladies” and Brooklyn’s brownstones.
This class takes place on Wednesdays, February 3, 17, March 3, and 17 from 1-2 pm.
This program will take place live online with an opportunity to interact with the speaker. Sessions will be recorded and made available for patrons for later viewing as well.
