Fiction writing is the art of lying to reveal a truth.
Over the course of our sessions, we develop an understanding of how good fiction works and learn how to use elements of craft—voice, structure, point-of-view, dialogue, etc.—to create convincing, compelling stories. We also explore what Dorothea Brande called “the duplicity” of writing: “the unconscious must flow freely and richly,” even as “the conscious must control, combine and discriminate.”
