Fiction intensifies insight with discernment.
It emphasizes the fleeting and barely perceptible. It allows us to see the unfamiliar in the everyday and to gape at the new with recognition. This workshop focuses on developing students’ ability to think analytically about the form and content of their fiction. Both traditional and more experimental elements of fiction are considered.
Class meets on Wednesdays, February 13, 20, 27, March 6, 13, 20, 27, and April 3
Manuscript Submission Required
Christopher Sorrentino is the author of Trance, a finalist for the National Book Award for Fiction, and The Fugitives. “Serious and scholarly, which was what I'd hoped for - but also open, friendly and encouraging, which I'd not necessarily expected. I had a wonderful experience studying and working with him,” wrote a former student.
