FAQs

What is special about Camp Yomi?

Our exciting calendar of events includes Wacky Wednesday theme days like Yomi Idol Day (think lip sync), Carnival Day and Yomi-lympics. Campers incorporate science, tech-nology, engineering and math (STEM) into their daily activities—creating a fun and edu-cational experience.

How many children and staff are in a group

Camp Yomi is divided into five age-appropriate units, entering grades K-4, with 5-6 groups typically in a unit. Each group in Yomi is co-ed, has a maximum of 15 campers and has two to five counselors, depending upon the age of the campers and the group size. Head counselors oversee two to three groups each. We always honor requests for campers to be placed with their friends.

“Divisions” are the new “units” in 2021. “Units” are so 2019!

  • Freshman Division: Campers entering Kindergarten and First Grade
  • Sophomore Division: Campers entering Second Grade
  • Junior Division: Campers entering Third and Fourth Grade

What special programming do you offer older Yomi campers?

Entering Third Graders “Juniors” will select choices as a camp group twice a week, choosing between a creative or active for a double period twice a week. Entering Fourth Graders “Juniors” will be able to create personalized summer experiences with tracks - Active, Creative and Traditional.
