Aug 12, 2020

Join the 92Y May Center for Health, Fitness & Sport for "Workout Wednesdays" at 8:30 am ET. We look forward to joining together as a fitness community each week and participating in a fun work-out to help keep your body moving and the positive vibes flowing! We are here for you and look forward to supporting you on your continued journey to wellness.

What is needed for class? No equipment is necessary. The whole workout can be done without weights. Here are some great recommendations if you have this equipment available:

  • Medium and/or heavier dumbbells or 2 smaller water bottles and 2 larger waters bottles (canned goods work too)
  • Elasta bands
  • Workout mat or towel to lean on towards the end of the workout
  • Sneakers are suggested but you can also complete this workout barefoot
  • Here is an introductory video to this type of class

Class Description:

Functional Fusion, Cardio, Core Workout with your favorite 92Y instructors - Beginners, intermediate and advanced levels.

The FFCC Workout is a unique combination of functional exercises, we use the upper, lower body and core simultaneously in each exercise. These exercises have many perks—and you want them all! Flat abs, toned arms, and a tight tush, plus a burst of endorphin-fueled energy and a calmer, less-stressed mind.

By coupling these exercises and moving from one functional exercise to the other rather quickly, “virtually no down time”, we keep the heart rate up and the calorie burn high. We speed up the metabolism by using weights, building muscles, core strength and improving balance. We end with a relaxing 5 minute stretch.

92Y needs your help

Many of you have asked how you can help 92Y as we face tremendous financial losses due to COVID-19. You can help sustain our beloved institution and support the creation of new, online programming that will bring comfort and inspiration to our community.

Thank you.
