A renowned British actor of stage and screen, Chiwetel Ejiofor received a Best Actor Oscar nomination for 12 Years a Slave, and is known for his film roles in Amistad, Dirty Pretty Things, Kinky Boots, Children of Men, Talk to Me, David Mamet’s Redbelt, and Endgame.
His directorial debut, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, is based on the true story of William Kamkwamba, an African teenager who used scientific ingenuity to confront famine in his Malawi village. Ejiofor co-stars as his traditionalist father, a farmer trying to take care of the parched land as well as his community.
