Alan Rabinowitz and Tom Kaplan: Tyger, Tyger, Burning Faint

Jan 16, 2011

Tigers are a whisper away from becoming extinct in the wild. The biggest threat to their survival is poaching and the hunger, particularly in China, for parts of the tiger’s body used in folk medicine. What happens if you deal more harshly with the poachers?

Alan Rabinowitz is an American zoologist, conservationist, field biologist and CEO of Panthera, a nonprofit conservation organization devoted to protecting the world's 37 wild cat species. Tom Kaplan is an entrepreneur, natural resources investor, philanthropist and Founder/Executive Chairman of Panthera.

92Y needs your help

Many of you have asked how you can help 92Y as we face tremendous financial losses due to COVID-19. You can help sustain our beloved institution and support the creation of new, online programming that will bring comfort and inspiration to our community.

Donate between now and October 31 and your gift will be matched dollar for dollar by a group of 92Y board members—going twice as far in supporting 92Y at this critical time. Thank you for anything you can do to help.
