Are you a giver or a taker? How about your children? When Wharton psychologist Adam Grant smashed the “greed is good” myth and revealed how generosity can revolutionize the way we approach work, he showed us the road to success for the 21st century.
Now Adam has teamed up with his wife Allison Sweet Grant, a writer and psychiatric nurse practitioner, to bring innovative ideas into the heart of our homes. Ever since Adam’s New York Times op-ed on raising a moral child went viral, readers have begged for a book to share with their families on the topic. Now, with their first picture book, The Gift Inside the Box, the Grants show us where to begin. In a fireside chat, Adam and Allison share why and how they wrote the book—and what they’ve learned from psychology evidence and personal experience about how we can care for others and ourselves, teach that value to kids, and prepare them to lead lives of meaning.
Many of you have asked how you can help 92Y as we confront tremendous financial losses due to COVID-19. Your generous gift will help sustain our beloved institution and will also support the creation of new, online programming that will bring comfort and inspiration to our community.
Together, we will get through this. Thank you.
