Innovative Jewish After-School Program for Children Grades K-8

Through a combination of learning and doing, children are immersed in a range of activities that bring to life Jewish values, holidays, traditions and celebrations with crafts, storytelling, music, drama and textual study.

Our exceptional staff of teachers, artists and musicians brings extensive knowledge of Judaism to Connect, along with passion and enthusiasm that make the program as uplifting as it is educational.

The interactive approach offered in our after-school program enlivens Judaism not only for our students, but for the whole family. To encourage Connect conversations to continue beyond the classroom, we invite your family to participate in Shabbat and holiday celebrations.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah Preparation

Our bar/bat mitzvah program, a modern approach to classic training, combines the highest quality religious instruction with independent thought and creativity to engage young adults fully in this very important experience. We strive to help students express their individuality and help them connect to the community through volunteer opportunities with 92Y’s Teen Center.

Whether planning a bar/bat mitzvah at home or abroad, students can use all 92Y’s resources to create a traditional ceremony or one that incorporates innovative elements such as drama, music or dance.

With 92Y’s expertise in Judaism, our diverse educational and creative resources and our commitment to inclusion and openness, we create a personally fulfilling experience for every student and family, preparing young adults for a lifetime of meaningful involvement in Jewish life and community. Bar/bat mitzvah preparation is available to students with developmental disabilities.

Hebrew Tutoring

92Y Connect offers one-on-one Hebrew tutoring to students enrolled in the after-school program. At weekly sessions in your home, our skilled educators allow your child to grow at his or her own pace. They are trained to work with a wide range of learning styles and abilities, and make the process empowering and enjoyable.
