Michael Cioffero has a Master’s Degree in classical guitar and, in addition to teaching at the 92nd Street Y School of Music, is the guitar instructor at the prestigious Dalton School. Michael has studied with Benjamin Verdery and Christopher Parkening among others and at Taller Flamenco Escuela de Flamenco in Seville, Spain.
Michael is a classical and electric guitarist and has regular performances in New York City and throughout the United States. At age nineteen he was one of twelve guitarists chosen nationwide to perform at the annual Christopher Parkening Master Class and has performed on VH1, with the cast and Muppets of Sesame Street, Japanese Television, Off-Broadway plays, film soundtracks, the television series The Arts in Westchester and a feature in Rolling Stone magazine.
Michael has been teaching classical and electric guitar for 20 years. His students have performed at Carnegie Hall, as well as gone on to study at major music conservatories such as the Manhattan School of Music, San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
