Bios

As a Partner at IDEO, Fred Dust works with leaders and change agents to unlock the potential of innovation networks in business, government and society.

During his tenure, Fred has taken Nike executives shopping, helped to guide the realization of a future-focused education center at Stanford University, and collaborated with patients and staff to build innovative service models for the Mayo Clinic and Kaiser Permanente. He’s also collaborated with the American Red Cross to redesign its donation experience and the Transportation Security Administration to evolve airport security. Other clients include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Rockefeller foundation, the University of Phoenix, the US Agency for International Development, the US Office of Personnel Management and the US Social Security Administration.

Fred is a frequently requested speaker, advisor and lecturer. He currently serves on the Advisory Board for Aspen Institute's Business and Society Program, the Board of Governors at Parsons The New School, the Places Journal Foundation Board and IDEO.org's Board of Directors. He lectures widely on various topics, including design methodology, future experience trends and social innovation. He holds numerous guest professor positions, including the Bruce Goff lectureship at the University of Oklahoma, and has taught classes at California College of the Arts and at the University of California, Berkeley School of Environmental Design.

Prior to joining IDEO, Fred was a project architect at Fernau & Hartman, where he worked on retail and corporate projects, such as the Smith & Hawken headquarters and retail prototype and Oxygen Media. He also spent eight years working in the art world with major organizations (Hotwire Productions, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Galería de la Raza and others) and independent artists, supervising the development of interactive art installations and assisting in the production of film video projects.

Fred’s writing, published by various journals, appears in several books: Extra Spatial discusses the design of spaces, and Eyes Open: New York and Eyes Open: London are city guides that view exceptional experiences through an urban lens.

Fred holds a bachelor’s degree in art history from Reed College and a master’s in architecture from the School of Environmental Design at UC Berkeley.

 

David Kirchhoff is CEO of Weight Watchers International, the world's leading provider of weight management services. In this role, Mr. Kirchhoff oversees a network of more than 56,000 employees and service providers around the world. Each week, approximately 1.2 million members attend over 45,000 Weight Watchers meetings. His organization is also responsible for WeightWatchers.com, which offers subscription weight management product and makes available robust tools and related mobile applications to members, as well as to over 1 million active Weight Watchers Online subscribers. Mr. Kirchhoff's business philosophy is grounded in the belief that obesity prevention is achievable and can be realized through a combination of smart governance, industry support and community empowerment.

Prior to becoming President and CEO of WWI in 2006, Mr. Kirchhoff held several positions within the company, including Chief Operating Officer for Europe and Asia. Mr. Kirchhoff was part of the original management team of WeightWatchers.com, Inc., and ultimately became its CEO. Mr. Kirchhoff was also the Chief Financial Officer of the Enthusiast Media Group of Primedia, Inc., a print and digital content provider; Director of Corporate Strategy and Development for Pepsico, Inc.; and a manager and consultant with The Boston Consulting Group in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Kirchhoff holds a B.S. in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering from Duke University and an M.B.A. with High Honors from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

SoulCycle co-founders Elizabeth Cutler and Julie Rice met in New York City and were determined to find an alternative to the fitness routines that felt like work. SoulCycle trains world-class instructors to teach the SoulCycle method, which engages and empowers riders in a way that leaves them mentally and physically stronger than when they arrived. Now, SoulCycle is leading the fitness revolution with people everywhere demanding the Soul experience.

Since 2006, when Julie and Elizabeth opened their first studio on the Upper West Side, SoulCycle has opened 14 locations nationwide, with plans to open 50-60 studios worldwide by 2015. Riders of all ages have responded to the SoulCycle cardio party (SC’s youngest rider is 11-years-old, their oldest is 78-years-old) with approximately 20,000 people riding at SoulCycle every week. In 2007, SoulCycle launched a robust retail line. Today, a new retail collection is released every month. In 2012, the company unveiled their very own SOULBIKE, an indoor cycle designed specifically for the SoulCycle ride. Julie and Elizabeth are humbled by the response to SOUL and are working hard to bring the party to the people.

Priority registration puts you at the front of the line to register for courses and events for an upcoming semester.

Eligible patrons will be able to order priority registration online.

 

Who is eligible for priority registration?

Individuals who have participated in 92nd Street Y programs over the past year in selected program areas, participants in certain memberships, and those who have made contributions of $500 or more to 92Y, are eligible to register for programs before they become available to the general public.

How do I know if I qualify?

Patrons that qualify for Priority Registration will receive packets in the mail explaining how to purchase online. Priority registration is normally mailed 2-3 weeks before a catalog is available. Registration information includes your Patron ID#. You can use this ID# to setup your login information online. This will allow you to register early for a course or event. Please note: if you receive a packet, you are only eligible to priority register for the programs covered in your packet.
