A concert inspired by John Waters’ film actress Liz Renay.
Maggie Moore presents Girl with the Polka Dot Eyes, a concert inspired by the life of John Waters’ film actress Liz Renay, accompanied by The Peter Keiswalter Band with featured singers David Driver and Kristi Ambrosetti. Moore performs all original songs inspired by actor/author/painter Liz Renay who was a uniquely notorious and campy personality, best known today for her role as Muffy St. Jacques in the John Waters film Desperate Living. Renay was a tabloid sensation in the 50’s and 60’s who went to prison for refusing to rat out her boyfriend, mobster Mickey Cohen. Her autobiographies, My Face for the World to See and My First 2,000 Men, are considered cult classics.
Maggie Moore is a New York singer and actor who appeared in the films American Splendor, The Visitor and Hedwig and the Angry Inch. She starred in and toured with Are You There, God? It’s Me, Ann-Margret, as Yitzak in Hedwig and The Angry Inch off-Broadway and in Jackie on Broadway. She performs with The Chanteuse Club alongside Kate Pierson and Gayle Ann Dorsey.
