A delightful and confounding blend of contemporary jazz, video, theater and general antics.

Koren Ensemble

After breaking one hundred thousand views with their innovative music videos, the Koren Ensemble is coming to the stages of NYC with their 50-minute performance piece, Hi-Five. In addition to their memorable and intricate brand of jazz pop, Hi-Five incorporates elements of cabaret and interactive video artwork.

The group's leader, Daniel Koren, is an Emmy-nominated music director and composer in Israel. Upon graduating from Berklee College of Music, Daniel moved to NYC and has been composing music for PBS, as well as directing TV commercials and music videos.

Renaldo The

Renaldo The, a classically trained bunch of misfits are one of NYC's secret downtown treasures who have been creating performance art and presenting concerts since 2007. The band is led by guitarist and Impresario Aldo Perez.

House Of Dopes, their newest show, is a mash-up evening of infantile humor, slap stick and betrayal presented in concert to a score of their spicy Latin indie rock where strains of rap, tango, opera and country all make appearances. There are inter-band rivalries that reach murderous heights, strange scenes with a rubber chicken and musical mistakes delivered with virtuosity. Renaldo The celebrate music, human folly and the futility of control and blend these into a rock show with outrageous surprises. Will Forte says “It’s a mixture of full commitment comedy and music that has to be seen to be believed.”

Tickets: $10 in advance / $12 day of show.
