Based on the popular Topps trading cards (that were themselves based on the popular Cabbage Patch Kids dolls), The Garbage Pail Kids Movie is, like the characters depicted on the cards, a big, sloppy, unpleasant mess.
When the Kids—Messy Tessie, Valerie Vomit, Windy Winston, Ali Gator, Foul Phil, Greaser Greg and Nat Nerd—are unleashed from their garbage can from outer space, they befriend an outcast boy (Mackenzie Astin), fight bullies, bikers and discrimination and even break out into a musical number called "We Can Do Anything." The film also features a clothing designer character named Tangerine, several unresolved subplots and the most conspicuous Pepsi product placement since Back to the Future. Come see why this is one of the most hated films of all time and bring money for beer. You're going to need it.
Come early for Happy Hour! An hour before each screening, our cafe will offer $2 off most beer and wine for movie ticket holders. And you can bring your drink into the screening, too!
Director: Rod Amateau. 96 min. 1987. 35mm.
