Two years in the making, New York Night Train unveils its latest and most ambitious party, the Land of 1000 Dances—both a new kind of party and a new kind of dance class.
Mr. Jonathan Toubin, the DJ and brain behind the Soul Clap and Dance-Off and other legendary parties, has been researching the dance crazes of the 1960s and trying to figure out a way to bring them to a contemporary club culture. Learn how to PONY like Bonie Maronie, HITCH HIKE across the floor, pass the BUG and kill that ROACH, from early-sixties TWISTers to late sixties FUNKY CHICKENS! Georgia Walker, Sarah King and special guest dancers show you how the steps are done in front of B.A. Miale's famous keytar-triggered moving visuals, which not only blow your mind and tell you the name of the steps, but simultaneously show old clips of your favorite artists doing them. A whole new way of approaching the classics!
This being the start of a debaucherous and fright-filled weekend, we’ll be spicing up the action with some extra spooky dances from the 60s including the LURCH, the FRANKENSTEIN WALK and of course the MONSTER MASH!
Thu, Oct 27/ 8 pm doors, 9 pm show.
