"Sheryl Crow meets the B52’s" – Wall Street Journal

Deni Bonet

Deni Bonet has gained a reputation for her catchy, high-energy songs, smart, ironic lyrics, world-class violin playing and tongue-in-cheek delivery. Not your usual angst-ridden singer/songwriter, Deni invites us all to “snap out of it!” when dealing with life’s inevitable problems. Deni was an original cast member of NPR's premier music show, "Mountain Stage," before forming her own band, which has been described in the press as “like Sheryl Crow meets the B 52's” & “like Debbie Harry fronting the Dave Matthews Band.”

Although classically trained, Deni quit the classical world because she hated having to wear black and sit still! She has recorded & performed with Cyndi Lauper, REM, Sarah McLachlan, Indigo Girls, Richard Thompson, Robyn Hitchcock and many others. Her music has been featured on HBO, NBC, American Airlines and in several film and modern dance projects. At 92YTribeca, she will be celebrating the release of her newest solo record, It's All Good.

Bobtown

In the summer of 2007, Katherine Etzel wrote some field hollers, a song form she learned while working the fields of Iowa. After a year, Bobtown had formed and by 2010, they had released their eponymous first album, which received positive reviews and airplay both domestically and internationally, as well as being featured on NPR’s "All Songs Considered." Lucid Culture, the first blog to discover Bobtown, described them as, "mixing elements of country gospel, bluegrass and field hollers with an often macabre Nashville gothic tinge and soaring four-part harmonies.”

With their distinctive original songs, Bobtown has been recognized as taking an “unconventional and refreshing” approach to the grand tradition of folk and Americana. As the Brooklyn Country blog poetically phrases it, “They are from the past but very much here and now, and they will wrap you up in their crafted tales of old and new and keep you warm while the world’s storms rage around you.”

Erin Hill

Erin Hill is a singer, harpist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, screenwriter, actor and science fiction geek. She's had a #1 album on the Billboard world chart, and in the Top 40 on the Independent chart (2009). Erin has played with Kanye West, moby, Enya, a-ha, Cyndi Lauper, Levon Helm, Sinead O’Connor, etc. and has played solo at The Royal Albert Hall. She is also known as The Pretty White Girl on Comedy Central's "Chappelle's Show."

With electric harp as the lead instrument, Erin plays and sings with her band, Erin Hill & her Psychedelic Harp, which includes vocals, harp, bass, drums, and pedal steel. The music is beautiful and psychedelic pop, with science fiction lyrics: "Hill is a songwriting angel... with tracks that fascinate and mesmerize the audience." (The Louisville Eccentric Observer).

Erin Hill & her Psychedelic Harp have played many festivals, including the Forecastle Festival in Louisville, KY and the Dia de la Musica Festival in Madrid, Spain. Radio 3, BBC says "Beautiful! Voice exquisite, words telling tales everyone wants to hear."
