Whether you're spending the evening with that special someone, taking a stand against a Hallmark holiday or looking to meet a like-minded story lover, come out for a night of SMITH Magazine's Live Story Show on Love and Heartbreak at 92YTribeca.

Each storyteller with start with a Six-Word Memoir and then open it up into a six-minute backstory. The evening starts with a Happy Hour at 6 pm and ends with a 'Six-Word Slam' in which anyone in the audience can share six words on love, heartbreak, or any part of life.

OPHIRA EISENBERG is the host of NPR's new weekly trivia, puzzle and game show, "Ask Me Another." She performs stand-up across the country, is a regular host of "The Mouth" and the author of a forthcoming memoir, Screw Everyone: Sleeping My Way to Monogamy, publishing in April from Seal Press.

DAVID CRABB is a performer, writer, comedian and storyteller in New York City. He is the co-creator/producer of the live storytelling series, "Ask Me" and has performed at Upright Citizens Brigade's "Asssscat 3000," Kevin Allison's "Risk!," "Stripped Stories," "Soundtrack Series" and "Story Collider." He's been a "Moth Story Slam" host as well as a two-time MothSlam champion.

AJ JACOBS is the editor-at-large at Esquire magazine and author of four New York Times bestsellers including, The Know-It-All, The Year of Living Biblically, My Life as an Experiment: One Man's Humble Quest to Improve Himself and most recently, Drop Dead Healthy: One Man's Humble Quest for Bodily Perfection.

CATIE LAZARUS is a writer and host of the podcast, "Employee of the Month Show," which is recorded live at Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. She has contributed to "The Daily Beast," "Slate," "Bust Magazine," "Cosmo," "Gawker" and is currently writing a column for "The Billfold."

ABBY ELLIN is a journalist whose work is frequently found in The New York Times and author of an investigative memoir, Teenage Waistland: A Former Fat Kid Weighs in on Living Large, Losing Weight and How Parents Can (and Can't) Help. She has invented an ice cream flavor, Karamel Sutra, available from Ben & Jerry's.

BRYAN CHRISTIAN runs the marketing department at Hyperion Books in New York and has worked in publishing the past eleven years, working on a wide range of best-selling books from memoir to fiction. His friends can attest to the fact that he communicates by anecdote, with most stories starting with "oh, so get this."

Priority registration puts you at the front of the line to register for courses and events for an upcoming semester.

Eligible patrons will be able to order priority registration online.

 

Who is eligible for priority registration?

Individuals who have participated in 92nd Street Y programs over the past year in selected program areas, participants in certain memberships, and those who have made contributions of $500 or more to 92Y, are eligible to register for programs before they become available to the general public.

How do I know if I qualify?

Patrons that qualify for Priority Registration will receive packets in the mail explaining how to purchase online. Priority registration is normally mailed 2-3 weeks before a catalog is available. Registration information includes your Patron ID#. You can use this ID# to setup your login information online. This will allow you to register early for a course or event. Please note: if you receive a packet, you are only eligible to priority register for the programs covered in your packet.
