The Accessories Council connects two long time friends, Judith Price, the founder and President of The National Jewelry Institute and iconic Jewelry Designer, Kenneth Jay Lane.

They will discuss Kenneth's long and successful career as one of the foremost Fashion Jewelry Designers, look at how women of style have incorporated jewelry over the years—who had it, who didn't and how those women influenced the sale of fashion and accessories. Expect colorful stories and photos of the past and their thoughts on today’s fashion influencers. Moderated by Karen Giberson, President of the Accessories Council.

Brief Bios

Michigan-born Kenneth Jay Lane graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1954. His fabulous costume jewelry has caught the eye of the world's most glamorous women for over four decades, including Jackie Onassis, Elizabeth Taylor, Diana Vreeland and Audrey Hepburn. His designs have been worn recently by such fashionistas: The Hilton sisters, Madonna, Sarah Jessica Parker, Britney Spears and Nicole Kidman. Moreover, his pieces are now sought-after and collectible as precious gems, with vintage pieces selling at Christies and Sotheby’s.

Judy Price, founder of AVENUE Magazine is also founder and President of the National Jewelry Institute, the country's first fine jewelry museum. Ms. Price is the author of Executive Style (Simon & Schuster), Masterpieces of American Jewelry (Running Press), Bijoux des Stars (Paris Musees); Masterpieces of French Jewelry (Running Press); Masterpieces of Ancient Jewelry: Exquisite Objects from the Cradle of Civilization (Running Press); LEST WE FORGET: Masterpieces in Patriotic Jewelry and Military Decorations (Taylor Trade of Rowman and Littlefield.)

92Y YourStage provides a venue for independent curators, performers, and educators to mount a professional production. Yourstage events are confirmed once they meet a threshold for ticket sales by a certain date.

YourStage events that are ON have been confirmed; PENDING events need to generate more ticket sales; If an event fails to generate enough ticket sales, the event will be CALLED OFF, and all ticket holders will be refunded.

Who is eligible for priority registration?

Individuals who have participated in 92nd Street Y programs over the past year in selected program areas, participants in certain memberships, and those who have made contributions of $500 or more to 92Y, are eligible to register for programs before they become available to the general public.

How do I know if I qualify?

Patrons that qualify for Priority Registration will receive packets in the mail explaining how to purchase online. Priority registration is normally mailed 2-3 weeks before a catalog is available. Registration information includes your Patron ID#. You can use this ID# to setup your login information online. This will allow you to register early for a course or event. Please note: if you receive a packet, you are only eligible to priority register for the programs covered in your packet.
