Julie Garcia completed her masters in Dance Education from New York University in 2009. As a tap and modern dancer, she teaches at Broadway Dance Center, STEPS on Broadway, 92nd Street Y, the American Tap Dance Foundation and has taught at Boston University, Long Island University, Jacksonville University and the Florida State College at Jacksonville. Julie works as Germaine Salsberg's tap dance assistant and dances in Germaine's company "Les Femmes Plus" and Adam Metzger’s "SLURP." She has performed at Jacob's Pillow, The Yard, Symphony Space, White Wave, 92nd Street Y, the Frederick Loewe Theatre, The Florida Theatre and the Conservatorio Statale Di Musica in Florence, Italy. She has danced in Tap City, the Tap Extravaganza, the DUMBO Dance Festival, Tradition in Tap and Tap It Out in Martha's Vineyard. Jill Kenney is a New York-based dancer, teacher and choreographer. She frequently teaches tap at Broadway Dance Center, where she has also worked as Germaine Salsberg’s assistant for over 5 years. Jill has guest taught at Steps on Broadway and is on faculty at the Dream Center Dance Academy of Long Island, in which she also serves as director of the early childhood program. With Salsberg’s tap company, Les Femmes, Jill has performed at Symphony Space, Lincoln Center, The Friars Club, 92nd Street Y, Long Island University and Brooklyn College. She has appeared in numerous festivals including the Dumbo Dance Festival, Tradition in Tap, Tap City and the Tap Extravaganza. Recently she performed in ATDF’s Rhythm in Motion at the 14th Street Y, as well as Tap It Out—an outdoor concert in which she also served as a rehearsal assistant. Kenny Noth comes from a family of dance instructors and attributes his ability to his mother’s dance studio where he began dancing at the age of four. Although he has been trained in many styles of dance, he has always held the highest regard, passion, and enthusiasm for tap! Over the years Kenny has received tap training from Jo Noth, Charles Goddertz, Germaine Salsberg, Debbie Dee, and Lane Napper. Besides his trainers, he has been influenced by Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, The Nicholas Brothers, and Gregory Hines. One of Kenny's greatest achievements was winning "Male Dancer of the Year" (Dance Olympus) with an a cappella tap piece that he co-choreographed with his mother. Favorite performances include OKLAHOMA!, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and an exchange performance tour in Russia and Denmark. He is a pround member of AEA. Eligible patrons will be able to order priority registration online.
Who is eligible for priority registration?
Individuals who have participated in 92nd Street Y programs over the past year in selected program areas, participants in certain memberships, and those who have made contributions of $500 or more to 92Y, are eligible to register for programs before they become available to the general public.
How do I know if I qualify?
Patrons that qualify for Priority Registration will receive packets in the mail explaining how to purchase online. Priority registration is normally mailed 2-3 weeks before a catalog is available. Registration information includes your Patron ID#. You can use this ID# to setup your login information online. This will allow you to register early for a course or event. Please note: if you receive a packet, you are only eligible to priority register for the programs covered in your packet.
