Come to 92Y and join our Warhol Festival of art workshops for children, including silk-screen printing, rubber stamping, creating ceramic shoes and metallic fish, and more.

All events are FREE and run from 12-4 pm.

The silkscreen studio is open for drop-in visits. All other programs have limited space and require advanced registration. Call 212.415.5562 to register for one of these FREE programs.

Sep 10 – Transformation Workshop
              7-11 yrs: 12-1:30 pm
              12-16 yrs: 2-4 pm

Andy Warhol had a knack for presenting familiar objects in new ways and making us see them differently. How did he do this? In this workshop you will explore various means by which one can transform a found object into a work of art.

Sep 11 - Ceramics: Warhol’s Shoes / Families / All Ages
Working in 92Y’s state of the art ceramic studio, design playful three-dimensional shoe sculptures inspired by Andy Warhol’s drawings and paintings of shoes. Sculptures will be fired and patrons can return on one the following weekends to glaze their work.

Sep 18 - (SOA Open House) – Rubber Stamp Workshop / Ages 5-8 
Andy Warhol used the repetition of images as a powerful design element in his art. He started doing this with rubber stamps when working as a commercial artist. Explore the use of rubber stamps to create patterns and designs in this lively workshop.

Sep 18 - Go Fish! / Ages 9-12
Join in us in the Jewelry and Metal Work Studio to design, cut and decorate your Warhol Fish bookmark or create your iconic symbol from Warhol’s notebooks or your own.

Sep 25 - (Street Festival) – Transformation Workshop
              7-11 yrs: 12-1:30 pm
              12-16 yrs: 2-4 pm

Also, check out the exhibit Warhol: Paintings for Children, coordinated by collector David Mugrabi from Sep 6-Oct 4. These paintings will be hung in the hall at eye level for easy viewing by children.

Priority registration puts you at the front of the line to register for courses and events for an upcoming semester.

Eligible patrons will be able to order priority registration online.

 

Who is eligible for priority registration?

Individuals who have participated in 92nd Street Y programs over the past year in selected program areas, participants in certain memberships, and those who have made contributions of $500 or more to 92Y, are eligible to register for programs before they become available to the general public.

How do I know if I qualify?

Patrons that qualify for Priority Registration will receive packets in the mail explaining how to purchase online. Priority registration is normally mailed 2-3 weeks before a catalog is available. Registration information includes your Patron ID#. You can use this ID# to setup your login information online. This will allow you to register early for a course or event. Please note: if you receive a packet, you are only eligible to priority register for the programs covered in your packet.
