Introduction; setting individual goals for projected song lists.
Discussion on vocal genres and various styles of songs and lyrics.
Introduction to song structure and form.
Introduction to the singing technique (voice production and breath support).
Composition: students work on their individual songs to complete a set by the end of the course.
Production: students may choose to either create the instrumentation for their song using Garage Band, compose a keyboard/guitar accompaniment or perform their songs without an accompaniment.
Performance: each student has a chance to perform his/her song set in class at the end of the course.

Russian-born soprano Nika Leoni is a classical singer, producer and educator with performance credits both in Europe and the United States. She appeared on opera stages in the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria; and performed concerts at Carnegie Hall, Munich Philharmonie, Berlin Philharmonie, Wałbrzych Filharmonia Sudecka (Poland), One World Symphony (New York); as well as recorded with Prague Stern Orchestra in the Czech Republic.

Eligible patrons will be able to order priority registration online.
Who is eligible for priority registration?
Individuals who have participated in 92nd Street Y programs over the past year in selected program areas, participants in certain memberships, and those who have made contributions of $500 or more to 92Y, are eligible to register for programs before they become available to the general public.
How do I know if I qualify?
Patrons that qualify for Priority Registration will receive packets in the mail explaining how to purchase online. Priority registration is normally mailed 2-3 weeks before a catalog is available. Registration information includes your Patron ID#. You can use this ID# to setup your login information online. This will allow you to register early for a course or event. Please note: if you receive a packet, you are only eligible to priority register for the programs covered in your packet.
