    Instructor: Janna Gregonis  show bio

    Janna Gregonis received her MFA in Metals from East Carolina University and her BFA in Metals from Kutztown University. Janna has taught at Kutztown University, St. Johns University, Peter's Valley, the Newark Museum and is currently teaching at the Baum School of Art in Allentown, PA and the 92nd St. Y. She is the former Director of the Jewelry department at the Craft Students League at the YWCA of New York City. Janna has worked at the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum. In January of 2009 she travelled to Cameroon where she taught women infected with AIDS and HIV how to make jewelry.

    Instructor: Lisa Spiros  show bio

    Lisa Spiros was born in New York City, where she is currently teaching jewelry making at 92nd Street Y, as she has for the past fourteen years. Some of the schools she has taught at include Parsons School of Design, New School for Social Research, New York University and The State University of New York at New Paltz. She has been invited as a guest lecturer and visiting artist by The Rhode Island School of Design, Massachusetts College of Art and the Hiko Mizuno College Art in Tokyo, Japan. Spiros received her B.F.A. in Metals from The State University at New Paltz, NY and attended graduate school at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Germany.

    Klaus Bürgel received his training at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich and at the Goldschmiedeschule Pforzheim. He has had one person exhibitions at Oliver Art Center, California College of Arts and Crafts, Oakland, CA; Bernard Toale Gallery Boston, MA; Goethe Institut, Boston, MA; and Jewelerswerk Gallery, Washington D.C. His most recent group shows include: Micromegas, American Craft Museum, NY; Historical Connnections, Mobilia Gallery, Cambridge, MA; The Perfect Collection, Fuller Craft Museum, Brockton, MA. Beyond the Mines: The Art of Gold, Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento, CA. His prior teaching includes the Maine College of Art, Portland; Rhode Island School of Design, Providence; UMass, Dartmouth; California College of Arts, Oakland; School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; and Parsons, NY.   • Jewelry Independent Study

    Instructor: Shella Robinson  show bio

    Shella Robinson currently teaches Jewelry I, Jewelry II, Independent Study and various workshops at the 92nd Street Y School of the Arts. She is also the Associate Director at a prominent contemporary art gallery in Chelsea. Previously, Robinson taught classes and workshops at the Midtown YWCA, NYC. After graduating with a BFA in Metalsmithing and Jewelry, Robinson earned a MFA in Metals and Jewelry at the State University of NY, New Paltz, where she also taught as an adjunct professor. Various one-of-a-kind pieces of Robinson's have been exhibited both nationally and internationally at venues such as Velvet da Vinci Gallery, John Kohler Arts Center and Galerie Marzee.

92Y YourStage provides a venue for independent curators, performers, and educators to mount a professional production. Yourstage events are confirmed once they meet a threshold for ticket sales by a certain date.

YourStage events that are ON have been confirmed; PENDING events need to generate more ticket sales; If an event fails to generate enough ticket sales, the event will be CALLED OFF, and all ticket holders will be refunded.

Priority registration puts you at the front of the line to register for courses and events for an upcoming semester.

Eligible patrons will be able to order priority registration online.

 

Who is eligible for priority registration?

Individuals who have participated in 92nd Street Y programs over the past year in selected program areas, participants in certain memberships, and those who have made contributions of $500 or more to 92Y, are eligible to register for programs before they become available to the general public.

How do I know if I qualify?

Patrons that qualify for Priority Registration will receive packets in the mail explaining how to purchase online. Priority registration is normally mailed 2-3 weeks before a catalog is available. Registration information includes your Patron ID#. You can use this ID# to setup your login information online. This will allow you to register early for a course or event. Please note: if you receive a packet, you are only eligible to priority register for the programs covered in your packet.
