If you’re looking for a way to help hurricane victims and also celebrate laughter and resilience, come to this very special evening at 92nd Street Y.
"Joy Behar’s Comics with Benefits” will feature a rare stand-up routine from Behar herself, as well as comedy from her friends including Larry David ("Seinfeld" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm"), Susie Essman, Andy Borowitz, Judy Gold, Darrell Hammond, Sherrod Small, Mario Cantone, John Fugelsang, Wendy Williams, Sherri Shepherd and Dee Snider in addition to other notable names in the worlds of TV, film, theater and music. Current co-founder Vice President Al Gore and actress and singer Liza Minnelli; Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert and others will appear in special videotaped segments during the event. All talent is subject to change.
One-hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit two local charities, which are providing hurricane Sandy relief: UJA-Federation of New York, which cares for people in need, and Rebuilding Together, which repairs and renovates damaged homes.
Note: Current TV will air an edited version of “Joy Behar’s Comics with Benefits”, executive produced by Joy Behar and Robin Hommel, throughout December as a fundraiser for UJA-Federation of New York and Rebuilding Together.
