Melanie Kozol has been exploring the contemporary landscape since graduating Connecticut College. She attended The Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and earned an MFA from the School of Visual Arts. Melanie was awarded an NEA Visual Artist Fellowship in painting and received a Skowhegan Scholarship for Drawing at NYSS.
In addition to teaching painting and drawing at the School of the Arts, 92nd Street Y, Melanie is a visiting instructor at Pratt Institute. Her work has been widely exhibited including Project Room 88, Kathryn Markel Fine Arts, Weber Fine Art, Alexander Gallery, DFN and Bussaco. Her paintings are included in numerous public and private collections including the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Pfizer Corporation, Deutsche Bank, Bellagio Hotel and Triomphe at the Iroquois Hotel. While attending the Universtiy of Massachusetts, Nancy Johnson was awarded a grant from the Ford Foundation for her outstanding undergraduate work and a Strathmore Paper Award for her excellence in drawing. After receiving her MFA degree Nancy taught painting and drawing at several institutions including Mount Wachusett Community College, Westfield State College and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. As an adjunct at the University of Massachusetts Nancy participated in launching the first Summer Abroad Program in La Napoule, France and Brugge, Belgium where she and her colleagues instructed a group of 35 BFA students in painting and drawing.
Nancy’s work ranges from paintings of the still life, and portrait to works based in the abstract expressionist tradition. Her work has been exhibited in Maine, Massachusetts and New York. Nancy is currently represented at the 44...for full instructor biography click here.

Gamble Staempfli was born in 1973 in New York City. Today he lives and works in Beacon, NY. Gamble earned his BFA in painting from Bard College, and graduated cum laude with an MFA from The New York Academy of Art, specializing in classical figurative painting. In May of 2000, his first solo show, entitled On Dogs opened at F/P Fine Arts in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Gamble has since participated in numerous exhibitions in the US and Europe, with paintings and sculpture in various local and overseas collections. He has been interviewed for NPR's "Studio 360", and more recently his drawing Heaven of Dogs was exhibited at the Grand Rapids Museum of Art.
Gambles work is typified by an acute adherence to classical technique with a more forward thinking approach to contemporary modes of composition and expression.

Who is eligible for priority registration?
Individuals who have participated in 92nd Street Y programs over the past year in selected program areas, participants in certain memberships, and those who have made contributions of $500 or more to 92Y, are eligible to register for programs before they become available to the general public.
How do I know if I qualify?
Patrons that qualify for Priority Registration will receive packets in the mail explaining how to purchase online. Priority registration is normally mailed 2-3 weeks before a catalog is available. Registration information includes your Patron ID#. You can use this ID# to setup your login information online. This will allow you to register early for a course or event. Please note: if you receive a packet, you are only eligible to priority register for the programs covered in your packet.
