    Doron Langberg (b.1985), originally from Israel, recently graduated from the Yale School of Art MFA program and is currently living and working in New York City. He holds a BFA from the University of Pennsylvania, a Certificate from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and attended the Yale Summer School of Music and Art, Norfolk. Doron’s work addresses issues of gender and sexuality, attempting to make ‘queerness’ a shared experience through the tactility and sensuality of oil paint. His work was exhibited in New York, Philadelphia, Detroit, Tokyo and Tel Aviv and reviewed in New American Paintings, American Artist Drawing Magazine, the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia City Paper. Doron is the recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant and the Yale Schoelkopf Travel Prize.     Philip Vanderhyden is an artist living and working in New York. Born in Wisconsin in 1978, Vanderhyden earned a BFA in painting from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2001 and an MFA from Northwestern University in 2004 and a BFA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2001. Vanderhyden has exhibited extensively nationally. His work has been reviewed in Art in America, Artnet and Artslant, among others. He recently concluded a solo exhibition of his work at Andrew Rafacz Gallery in Chicago and curated the retrospective of Pictures Generation artist Gretchen Bender.

    In addition to 92nd Street Y, Vanderhyden has taught a range of courses, from undergraduate to graduate level, at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Northwestern University and The University of Illinois at Chicago among others.

    While attending the Universtiy of Massachusetts, Nancy Johnson was awarded a grant from the Ford Foundation for her outstanding undergraduate work and a Strathmore Paper Award for her excellence in drawing. After receiving her MFA degree Nancy taught painting and drawing at several institutions including Mount Wachusett Community College, Westfield State College and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. As an adjunct at the University of Massachusetts Nancy participated in launching the first Summer Abroad Program in La Napoule, France and Brugge, Belgium where she and her colleagues instructed a group of 35 BFA students in painting and drawing.

    Nancy’s work ranges from paintings of the still life, and portrait to works based in the abstract expressionist tradition. Her work has been exhibited in Maine, Massachusetts and New York.     David Atkin was born in Toronto Canada. Today he lives and works in Brooklyn. David earned his BFA in painting at the Nova Scotia College of Art And Design, and his MFA in painting from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He also studied at the Cooper Union, Parson’s School of Design and the Ontario College of Art. David has been teaching at 92nd Street Y since 2005 as well as teaching at the Nova Scotia College of art and Design, and the Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, Massachusetts. His work approach involves a firm grasp of realism in a contemporary context. David encourages his students to attain a mastery of the painting techniques their intuitive energy.

92Y YourStage provides a venue for independent curators, performers, and educators to mount a professional production. Yourstage events are confirmed once they meet a threshold for ticket sales by a certain date.

YourStage events that are ON have been confirmed; PENDING events need to generate more ticket sales; If an event fails to generate enough ticket sales, the event will be CALLED OFF, and all ticket holders will be refunded.

Eligible patrons will be able to order priority registration online.

 

Who is eligible for priority registration?

Individuals who have participated in 92nd Street Y programs over the past year in selected program areas, participants in certain memberships, and those who have made contributions of $500 or more to 92Y, are eligible to register for programs before they become available to the general public.

How do I know if I qualify?

Patrons that qualify for Priority Registration will receive packets in the mail explaining how to purchase online. Priority registration is normally mailed 2-3 weeks before a catalog is available. Registration information includes your Patron ID#. You can use this ID# to setup your login information online. This will allow you to register early for a course or event. Please note: if you receive a packet, you are only eligible to priority register for the programs covered in your packet.
