Faculty Highlights

Concert pianist and Steinway artist Jenny Lin provides an inside look into her innovations with Steinway and her work as a music educator through 92Y.

Yana Stotland, 92Y School of Music Director

A musician from the age of 7, Yana is also an accomplished music educator and arts administrator, continually surveying the ever-changing landscape of music education to bring current best practices to 92Y’s School of Music. As Director, she works closely with individual students and parents to help them choose classes, instruments and lesson plans that will make their musical journeys fulfilling and instill a lifelong love of music.

Prior to joining 92Y, Yana was associate director at American Classical Orchestra, where she played a key role in presenting concerts and events and led marketing and public relations efforts. She was also Music Director at the Lucy Moses School, one of the largest community music schools in the country, and she served as the executive director of the Dalcroze School of Music (in New York).

Yana has taught music theory at Long Island University (C.W. Post) and piano at the United Nations International School; she has an M.M. in Music History and a B.M. in Piano Performance from Queens College and is fluent in Russian.

School of music Staff

Laura Kay, Manager of the School of Music

Laura Kay is excited to join the 92nd Street Y School of Music team as Manager of the School of Music! Hailing from New Jersey, Laura holds a Bachelor of Musical Arts in Voice and Contemporary American Literature from Penn State University, and a Master of Music in Opera from the Cleveland Institute of Music. She worked as Director of In-School Affairs at Turtle Bay Music School, Community Engagement Assistant for the Metropolitan Opera Guild, and most recently as the Administrative Director at the Feldenkrais Institute of New York. She also runs a private vocal studio, and performs contemporary American opera and art song with the CIRCE Ensemble in recitals around the city - in her spare time, she manages social media for her silly and beloved Shiba Inu, Tonka. :) She's honored to be a part of the 92Y School of Music, to work with such an incredible faculty and staff, and to serve the 92Y community!
